Well, we tasted the cookies on Wednesday. Now it is time to start writing about them. I have been trying to gather links for where people write about food. Here goes. If you have anything else to add, please share the links with me.
I am going to include some blogs as well as news sites.

English 10 CP - Modest Proposal Link
Hello Again.
Yesterday we discussed J. Swift's Modest Proposal and some asked me to bring in my copy of it. In an effort to save time and wear and tear on my anthology. :-) I will include a link so you can read it at your leisure. When you finish reading it, feel free to post a comment. What do you think?

Huckleberry Finn - English 10 CP - Opening Discussion
Hello students
“[Mark Twain] is surprisingly relevant right now. When you look at how much he wrote and the breadth of the subjects he wrote about, you know that if he were alive today, he would totally be a blogger.”
— Rebecca Fitting, an owner of the Greenlight Bookstore in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, quoted in the 2010 article “Mark Twain’s Autobiography Flying Off the Shelves.”
Just wanted to share a few things with you that will go with our reading of Huck Finn. We will be discussing the new edition that is removing some of the language and some of the news coverage it has received. Here are some of the resources we will use.

Bring It Day! Issue 2
Newspaper Kids!
It's this week and we are still trying to get through the read alouds. Students needs to make sure that his/her stories get read aloud and edited by the class and the pages get mocked up for Bring It Day! We need to figure out what we are doing with the next issue. It goes to the printer in 1 1/2 weeks. Can't wait to see it!

It's almost Halloween! But before we eat too much candy, let's meet those deadlines!
Hi All.
Just wanted to send out a reminder of the deadlines that are coming up.
Newspaper: Issue 2 Features - Stories & Photos need to be on Google docs/ server - respectively. We are doing read alouds for the rest of the week. Please plan on shooting through these stories.
Yearbook: Read alouds for HC spreads and all fall sports that have ended start tomorrow. Please make sure that you are tracking down those photos. Don't froget to help Miss M out by looking around for JV golf photos.
Intro - Movie reviews and news stories. Wahooo. This will be a challenge for you. On one assignment you get to fill it in with your opinion and on the other you can't have any opinion at all. I have seen great drafts so far. Rewrites of news are due on Monday. Can't wait to hear theme.
English - TKAM. Please keep up to date on your readings.

Publication information for 2nd Quarter
Welcome Staffers and Parents
Second quarter is quickly approaching and that is bringing the second issue of the paper and the yearbook's shipping dates for fall sports. Students will need to check their work schedules to get the Monday night work nights off in order to meet our publisher deadlines.
Newspaper is on two rather tight deadlines with the the holidays so students will need to make sure that they get their sports done. Please see Mrs. B sooner rather than later if there are any problems. Don't forget to take those photos as well.
Yearbook kids - you need to get those photos uploaded for fall sports so you can start writing captions. Remember it is not to early to begin working on the infographs that go on each page. As soon as a season ends get that spread done. Softball is over lets get those spreads out of our hands within the net two weeks. We also need to get those senior polls set up. AS and LS need to meet with the staff to begin to work on our commercial contest entry.
Parents we are still looking for parents to run the POPS group. I will work on getting the information out to parents soon so we can get the rest of the dates or work nights set up and planned. Thanks to those who have fed us so far.
We have had a good start so let's keep that momentum going. Congratulations to Lauren for winning the scholarship yesterday. When I learn the rest of the awards, I will announce them in class.
